| Profile: Kirsty works predominantly on the personal, on those things that move her. She is interested in capturing the human soul and the visualisation of emotion. Her work however, is not just about her own experiences, it is about all of ours. Kirsty looks out onto the world and expresses our feelings towards it. Kirsty's images reach out to people on a personal level, yet also unite in the shared acknowledgement of emotion. "Kirsty has an aptitude for reading, acknowledging and truly understanding how life 'happens to you'. Connecting on an emotional plane, she is able to single out those moments that pass you by, but have a deep impact on you. Those moments that leave an imprint on your psyche, and gets you thinking outside the box, whilst still comfortably inside - (which is no bad thing)" "I work through developing an exploration of the personal and the objective. My interests lie in the transformation of the personal to objective, its capacity to remain subjective and the role the viewer plays in the power of the image." Kirsty works mainly with still photography, but uses animation, film and text when the need arises. Kirsty lives and works in St Albans. |
